Well, we are a family of 5 now. Yes, hard to believe that last week we were a family of 4. I know you're probably wondering how THAT happened. Our agency called us last Friday afternoon with information on an Ethiopian boy that would be available for adoption domestically after a disruption and asked if we would be interested. Less than 24 hours later, my husband and I were on a plane out of state to take custody. We received placement on Tuesday and will complete a domestic adoption which takes 6 months to finalize in court.
There is so much about this story that speaks of how powerful our God is. I can't share all the details out of respect for others involved but please know...God worked a miracle for our family after all the heartache we have been through the past few months with our referral loss.
We have named our little guy Miki, short for the Ethiopian name Michias. He is 2 years old and such a joy. I'm so glad that our family went to Ethiopia in March and were able to experience Ethiopia. I never in a million years would have guessed this is how our adoption story would end but God did.
So, that's our adoption story. A lot can happen in a few days.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a miracle, and I feel humbled and blessed to witness it from afar. I'm so sorry for the headache your family went through with the lost referral. But like you said, it's wonderful that you were able to experience Ethiopia so that you can talk to Miki about his heritage.
